About
Oh, where to start…
Once upon a time, Wick said to Jeff, “We should write a game book – soup to nuts. The whole shebang.”
Jeff of course thought Wick was crazy, then Wick tempted him with the idea of having an actual, tangible game book.
Not only that, but finding a way to get it sexified with a leather cover, full color art, gold leafed pages, ribbons, and even that thing old books had on their spines where there were those bumpy things.
That’s how it started. But, and there is always a but to these stories, we exposed our friends to it. That’s where things totally got off the rails. They liked it. Now since our goal was really to make the game we always wanted to play, now we were learning that our sensibilities were kind of aligned with our friends sensibilities. They got excited, and involved, and soon told us we needed to show other people. So we did. Then those people offered their thoughts, praises, and concerns. In the end it made for an even better game.
Then something else happened, the reality of getting a book arted, and edited, and laid out. That meant that things were out of our hands as we waited for others to do their part. So we did what gamers do, started thinking about the next game. Next thing you know we were working on something new, and of course talking about all the other things we could explore doing. Idea after idea poured forth – some of them might even have been good ideas.
That’s how it happened, and all while meeting together over lunch – powerful lunches. Even though we had one game “done”, we knew soon there would be more. We needed to come up with some sort of company/studio/game-building-factory name so people would know all of our titles came from the same group. Thus Power Lunch Games was born.
…and now you know.
…and knowing is… likely three-quarters of the battle in this case.
